Telepathy In Fiction And Reality?
Poul Anderson addresses this question in "Journeys End."
Robert Silverberg wrote the really good Dying Inside. I heard him read part of it at a Con.
James Blish has microcosmic telepathy, which becomes the basis of an interstellar empire.
In Mike Carey's Lucifer, a schoolgirl attends her friend's funeral:
"Mona's mum was crying and her face was all red, but she wasn't thinking about anything much.
"Her dad had the same creepy crawly things in his mind that he always has. Money, and tied-up women, and all the different kinds of drugs he sells. Yeuk."
-Mike Carey, Lucifer: Devil In The Gateway (New York, 2001), p. 137.
Are there people who read our minds?
