Myth II

Myths can be profoundly meaningful or completely meaningless. Theologians who say that "resurrection and immortality" does not mean resurrection and immortality but something else are clinging to an empty form of words and should state clearly that they are no longer Christians. However, a ritual enacting the death and resurrection of a deity expresses the seasons and thus says something - dramatically - about life.

The Ysan says that different Gods represent a single Being. Thus, the Greek and Roman Gods of War represent a single Being of War, the Greek and Roman Goddesses of Love represent a single Being of Love etc? Monotheists add that there is just one Being of War, Love and everything else. Monists add that there is one Being period. The explanation-seeking human mind either invents or finds underlying unities.

Kaor, Paul!

I agree with your first sentence here. I could hardly put it better, myself! I'm frankly exasperated with those "Christians" who claim "resurrection and immortality" does not mean what the words say and they should stop calling themselves Christians. Because it would be more HONEST.
