Harari suggests that "Modernity" (p. 233) promises:
"No paradise awaits us after death - but we can create paradise here on earth and live in it for ever, if we just manage to overcome some technical difficulties." (p. 235)
Harari exaggerates - or deliberately writes like an advertisement. Earth will not last forever. However, longer term, is there some hope for a technological "forever"? See Surviving The End Of The Universe.
