Loki Bound

(Death of Balder.)

We have:

considered Odin and, to a lesser extent, Thor in the works of Poul Anderson;

looked at Thor in other media;

compared Anderson with CS Lewis -

- so here is one more detail to end tonight. CS Lewis in his youth wrote a poem, Loki Bound, with Thor as bullying villain turning Odin's mind against the tragic hero, Loki. How is that for a different perspective?

Elsewhere, I have noted this literary sequence:

Prometheus Bound by Aeschlyus;
Prometheus Unbound by Percy Shelley;
Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley;
Frankenstein Unbound by Brian Aldiss.

Maybe Loki Bound is a sidebar.

Kaor, Paul!

Lewis' "Loki Bound" seems to show a very different perspective! I usually think of it the other way around: a wily, tricksy Loke manipulating a rather dim witted Thor!
